I didn't have a problem seating the air fitting on the stem valve to get air into it. The problem is that the fitting won't stay on the valve by itself. Someone had to hold it in place. There are probably different types of fittings for these valves, some of which may work better than others. I know some bicycle pumps have fittings that "grip" the valve stem, so something like that would work well. I just think that the quick-connect type fittings would work better with air compressors since they should be universal.
